If you are receiving an error that references Cooked/Uncooked content or a Global Shader error, this is usually indicative of out-of-date drivers not cooperating with Dauntless. If this happens, please try the following steps:
Update your Graphics Card Drivers
Since you purchased or built your PC, your graphics card may have updated its drivers. These drivers contain essential updates and bug fixes necessary to run the latest games and software, Dauntless included. The first step is to identify which graphics card you have.
- Press Windows Key.
- Type dxdiag and then hit Enter.
- Select the Display tab.
- Note the name and manufacturer of your card in the top left corner of the window.
From there; you'll want to go to your manufacturer's website to download the latest drivers.
Make sure you also have the latest version of DirectX installed as well, by following this link.
Keeping Windows Updated
Most versions of Windows will stay up to date. To ensure you have the latest updates, do the following:
- Press Windows Key.
- Type Check for Updates.
- Then click the Check for Updates button.
If there are any outstanding updates, make sure to download them.
