Linking your Dauntless Account, Console Account, and Epic Games Account

Whether you're new to Dauntless or just playing on a new platform, please take a few minutes to read through these important account linking instructions. If you do not link your account correctly the first time you log in, your game progress and friends list will not be shared between platforms. If you have a question about any part of the account linking process, please send us a support request.

Start by choosing a scenario below:

If you played beta before the game was on Epic and have not played since, for PC please follow the on-screen instructions before choosing a scenario below. For console, please make sure you link your epic account and then follow the instructions. If you have any issues with this portion, please contact Customer Support.

Scenario 1:
I have played Dauntless in the past and have a Dauntless account. I also have an Epic Games account.

Scenario 2:
I have played Dauntless in the past and have a Dauntless account. I DO NOT have an Epic Games account.

Scenario 3:
I DO NOT have a Dauntless account, but I DO have an Epic Games account.

Scenario 4:
I DO NOT have a Dauntless account and I DO NOT have an Epic Games account.

Scenario 1:

I have played Dauntless in the past and have a Dauntless account. I also have an Epic Games account.

If you’re playing on PC ...

  1. Download and launch Dauntless from the Epic Games store.
  2. Enjoy the game!

If you’re playing on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or Nintendo Switch ...

  1. Download and launch Dauntless from your console’s store.
  2. On the title screen, select ACTIVATE ACCOUNT.1.jpg
  3. Follow the prompts on your screen to link your Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, or Nintendo account to your Epic Games account. (If your accounts are already linked, you should connect automatically.)

  4. On the next screen, choose LINK NOW. Warning: DO NOT skip this step. This can make it extremly difficult to link accounts.

  5. Follow the prompts on your screen to link your accounts.

Scenario 2:

I have played Dauntless in the past and have a Dauntless account. I DO NOT have an Epic Games account.

If you’re playing on PC ...

  1. Create an Epic Games account at epicgames.com.
  2. Download and launch Dauntless from the Epic Games store.
  3. On the title screen, click LINK NOW. Warning: DO NOT skip this step. This can make it extremly difficult to link accounts.
  4. Follow the prompts on your screen to link your account.

If you’re playing on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or Nintendo Switch ...

  1. Download and launch Dauntless from your console's store.
  2. On the title screen, select ACTIVATE ACCOUNT.
  3. Follow the prompts on your screen to link your PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, or Nintendo account to a new Epic Games account.
  4. On the next screen, choose LINK NOW. Warning: DO NOT skip this step. This can make it extremly difficult to link accounts.
  5. Follow the prompts on your screen to link your accounts.

Scenario 3:

I DO NOT have a Dauntless account, but I DO have an Epic Games account.

If you're playing on PC …

  1. Download and launch Dauntless from the Epic Games store.
  2. On the title screen, select I'M A NEW PLAYER.
  3. Follow the prompts on your screen to log in and start playing.

If you're playing on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or Nintendo Switch ...

  1. Download and launch Dauntless from your console's store.
  2. On the title screen, select ACTIVATE ACCOUNT.
  3. Follow the prompts on your screen to link your Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, or Nintendo account to your Epic Games account. (If your accounts are already linked, you should connect automatically.)
  4. On the next screen, choose I'M A NEW PLAYER.
  5. Follow the prompts on your screen to log in and start playing.

Scenario 4:

I DO NOT have a Dauntless account and I DO NOT have an Epic Games account.

If you're playing on PC …

  1. Create an Epic Games account at epicgames.com.
  2. Download and launch Dauntless from the Epic Games store.
  3. Follow the prompts on your screen to log in and start playing.

If you're playing on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, or Nintendo Switch ...

  1. Download and launch Dauntless from your console's store.
  2. On the title screen, select ACTIVATE ACCOUNT.
  3. Follow the prompts on your screen to link your PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, or Nintendo account to a new Epic Games account.
  4. On the next screen, select I'M A NEW PLAYER.
  5. Nintendo Switch only: Enter a display name and select SET DISPLAY NAME. Warning: The display name you choose will be visible to other players and cannot be changed once it is set.

  6. Follow the prompts on your screen to log in and start playing.

Common Account Linking Issues

If you accidentally linked to the wrong Dauntless or Epic Account, please reach out to our support team and provide them with (1) your Dauntless username, (2) the email associated with your Dauntless account, and (3) the email associated with your Epic Games account. We may ask some clarifying questions to ensure you're the proper owner of the Dauntless account.
